work footwear for professional use. This standard can only be used jointly with the EN ISO 20345 and EN
ISO 20347 standards which specify the requirements for the footwear depending on the specific level of
risks.
EN ISO 20345 : Specifications for safety footwear for professional use. This standard
defines, in reference to the EN ISO 20344 standard, the fundamental and additional (facultative) requirements
for safety footwear for professional use. This footwear includes the necessary safety device to
protect the wearer’s toes against risk of injury from falling objects and accidents which could occur in
industrial environments. Fit out with a toe cap, this footwear protects the wearer’s toes against crushing
impacts with a protection provided on 200 Joules.
EN ISO 20347 : Specifications for work footwear for professional use. This footwear is different
from safety footwear by the fact that these do not have toe caps against injury from falling
objects or crushing impacts.
